Current Option Wins Premier Handicap on Champions Weekend

Bought for £85,000 in the Tattersalls July sales Current Option was the biggest investment into a racehorse that the partnership of B T O’Sullivan, Dooley Thoroughbreds and Shamrock Thoroughbreds had been involved in. 

After hugely impressive first two runs for the partnership finished 2nd at both Cork and the Curragh he was entered up in the Irish Stallions Farms EBF Sovereign Path Handicap on Champions Weekend at Leopardstown.

Ronan Whelan took the ride and a peach of a ride he gave him, always in the right places as he tracked the leaders at halfway, moving up alongside the leaders 2f out then holding a narrow advantage inside the final furlong to take the spoils.
