One of B T O’Sullivan Construction Solutions’ key projects for 2017 is the complete drainage, groundworks and construction of several large scale industrial units at our site in Liverpool. For this project to get underway there was a requirement for a diversion of the existing United Utilities manhole that was located on site.

BTOCS built a new 2400mm diameter manhole on an existing egg-shaped culvert at a depth of 5.5 meters, breaking into the culvert, making the connection and diverting the 750mm drain run around the proposed building.

Diversion works incorporated a further four 1800mm diameter manholes and a petrol interceptor.

Monitoring and Surveys Result in a Successful United Utilities Manhole Diversion

This construction of the new United Utilities manhole was regularly monitored by the authority and progress reports filed to compliance to the strict guidelines.

Upon completion, a detailed CCTV survey of the drain was completed and footage supplied giving evidence of a highly successfully completed job.
